Dating After Retirement – How To Make It Easy And Fun
It’s as simple fact of life that retiring ends up being a nightmare for many people. Especially if they lose their husband or wife soon after retirement, they often simply lose their will to live and become dark, oppressed beings who get no joy from life. That is such a sad scenario. Luckily it’s not inevitable. Dating could be fun no matter how old you are.
Your very first step should be to build your self confidence a bit. Start off by emptying your refrigerator. That’s right. There’s no way you will lose weight with all the rich foods and even richer desserts hidden in there – anyone who knows anything about how to lose fat will tell you that. And losing weight can be a major confidence booster. Then also get some exercise.
Now there are many ways to take in less calories. You don’t necessary have to eat less. You just have to eat better. Get rid of the fatty foods and the 5kg boxes of ice cream in your refrigerator. If you ever want to date again, you need some self discipline! The best option is not even to try it alone. Join a slimming club. They go under various names, but the principle is sound: if you pick up weight you have to confess to other people why.
This can serve a dual purpose: many of these slimming clubs accept members from both sexes. Are you getting my point? Joining such a club might be the ideal opportunity of meeting someone who has the same purpose in life as you: losing weight and meeting someone interesting. If you are a gentleman you could even wear a black sport watch to one of these meetings – the ladies love them.
Unfortunately eating less is not sufficient to lose weight. You will still have to get in some exercise as well. Please don’t overdo the whole thing – you don’t want to end up dead, just in love. If you haven’t done any exercise during the past 40 years, don’t start by running 10 kilometers a day. That’s looking for a quick end to your running (and dating) career. Rather take a long walk early in the morning and again just after sunset. That’s when most interesting people go for a walk. And make sure to go for walks where there’s an opportunity to stop and chat about something beautiful. Something like a stunning garden or a little lake. Anything that will give you an excuse to start a conversation with that striking stranger you see walking the same route every afternoon…
An ever better option is to invite one of your fellow members at the club to walk with you. Not just any fellow member, of course. Invite the one you think has the most potential to become more than a walking partner. Perhaps you could become jogging partners later on. Who knows. Don’t be shy. Shy is for a 16 year old with acne problems.
With a little perseverance you will soon be much fitter than before, have lost a lot of weight and who knows, gained a new life partner in the process. If that doesn’t happen, you will at least have so much fun on the way that you will forget to be lonely.
